Woodstock Winery, McLaren Vale

Woodstock Winery is located in McLaren Vale in South Australia, about 4 kilometres from Adelaide. The original property and vineyards were established in 1859 by Arthur Townshend, and it was he who named it after his hometown of Woodstock in Oxfordshire.

These days the winery is owned and run by Scott Collett, former South Australian Winemaker of the Year, and his knowledge and experience is combined with the renowned expertise of Ben Glaetzer to produce wines that continue to harvest international acclaim.

The vineyards of the Woodstock estate now amount to 22 hectares, of which the most famous is the 110 year old block of Shiraz vines in the 'Stocks' vineyard, which produces the winery's flagship wine. However, Scott has also invested heavily in new plantings in the neighbouring Limestone Coast and Langhorne Creek regions, which provide additional complexities to some of the blends.
